Happy New Year! hehe.

January is behind us now and so far things in Oregon are as interesting as usual. Our car broke a timing belt and has been to two different shops over the past week and a half. Organizing work schedules, towing the car, and even going to the dentist midday becomes a huge pain. I am just extremely happy we have Tom and a good friend in Joe Delph to help us out. Can't wait for the bill... : (

Speaking of Joe Delph, he drove us to Seattle this past weekend to play in a Magic The Gathering prerelease event with Andy and some friends from up north. We had a great time and the weekend was as good as I was expecting. This weekend also marks the first successful month of my resolution to complete sets of daily pull-ups. The count is up to 1280 for the year! I have seen a marked increase in my climbing strength as well which is very motivating. Two personal goals of mine are to climb V10 outdoors and to qualify for the Magic Pro Tour. I am working V8-9 in the gym and still scrubbing out in MTG Pro Tour Qualifier events, but practice is progress. I have also started a blog to record my gaming ideas which allows me to keep track of interesting concepts. Let me know if you would like to be a member of the CardstockCrucible.

I have been terrible about finding and applying for programming jobs. The industry around our area is depressing as headlines like Microsoft laying off 1400, Intel closing local plant, and so on. I have applied for an Admin position at the Clackamas store in the interim so that I can possibly attain some stable paycheck of reasonable size, if only for the next six months or so while I look for something else. I should hear from the hiring manager by Friday about an interview.

I hope all is going well for everyone and I will try to be more consistent about posting.
